High-fat diet consumption causes hypothalamic inflammation, dysregulating the leptin pathway, which, in turn, compromises the modulation of hypothalamic neuronal activities and predisposes obesity development. Intermittent fasting (IF) and exercise training (ET) have been demonstrated as efficient interventions to modulate hypothalamic inflammation and neuronal activity. However, no studies have evaluated whether combining these interventions could induce better results in reestablishing hypothalamic homeostasis disrupted by high-fat diet intake. The 8-week-old male C57BL/6 mice were randomly assigned into 2 groups: sedentary mice fed a standard diet (CT), and sedentary mice fed a high-fat diet (HF). After 8 weeks of an HF diet, part of the HF group (now 16 weeks old) was randomly subjected to different interventions for 6 weeks: HF-IF = HF diet mice submitted to IF; HF-T = HF diet mice submitted to ET; HF-IFT = HF diet mice submitted to IF and ET. All interventions decreased the body weight gain induced by high-fat diet intake, associated with reduced calorie consumption in week 14. Only the HF-IFT group presented improved serum insulin, leptin, resistin, and Tnf-alpha levels concomitantly with decreased hypothalamic inflammation. The HF-IFT group also demonstrated increased Pomc mRNA expression associated with enhanced pSTAT3 expression in the hypothalamic arcuate and ventromedial hypothalamic nuclei. Our data indicate that the beneficial effects of the combination of IF and ET on energy homeostasis are associated with increased leptin sensitivity in the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus and ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus, which is likely due to an improvement in hypothalamic inflammatory pathways in these nuclei.

OBJECTIVES: To carry out a systematic review and meta-analysis to verify the effects of multicomponent training on the cognitive function of older adults without cognitive impairment. DESIGN: Systematic review and meta-analysis. SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS: Adults aged 60 years and older. METHODS: The searches were accomplished through MEDLINE (via PubMed), EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, SCOPUS, LILACS, and Google Scholar databases. We performed the searches up to November 18, 2022. The study included only randomized controlled trials and older adults without any cognitive impairment (dementia, Alzheimer's, mild cognitive impairment, neurologic diseases). Risk of Bias 2 tool and PEDro scale was performed. RESULTS: Ten randomized controlled trials were included in the systematic review, of which 6 (involving 166 participants) were compiled in the meta-analysis of random effects models. The Mini-Mental State Examination and Montreal Cognitive Assessment were used to assess global cognitive function. The Trail-Making Test (TMT) (A and B domains) was performed by 4 studies. Compared with the control group, multicomponent training increases the global cognitive function (standardized mean difference = 0.58, 95% CI: 0.34-0.81, I2 = 11%; P < .001). Regarding TMT-A and TMT-B, multicomponent training decreases the time performed in the tests (TMT-A: mean difference = -6.70, 95% CI: -10.19 to -3.21; I2 = 51%; P = .0002) (TMT-B: mean difference = -8.80, 95% CI: -17.59 to -0.01; I2 = 69%; P = .05). The PEDro scale for the studies in our review ranged from 7 to 8 (mean = 7.4 ± 0.5), meaning good methodologic quality, and most studies were judged as at least low in terms of risk of bias. CONCLUSION AND IMPLICATIONS: Multicomponent training improves cognitive function in older adults without cognitive impairment. Therefore, a possible protective effect of multicomponent training for cognitive function in older adults is suggested.

This study aims to identify the main causes of food waste (especially fruit and vegetables) and their relationship with prevention practices at supermarket and supplier levels. To do so, we conducted case studies in four Brazilian supermarket chains and their suppliers. Our findings show that although supermarkets seem to be concerned about avoiding food waste, they mostly focus on internal prevention actions, reflecting the lack of collaboration and information between supermarkets and suppliers. The low investment of supermarkets in actions to prevent food waste is focused only on their internal operations and, despite this, training is inefficient due to the high level of staff turnover and lack of involvement of suppliers in participating in this training. The use of technologies such as packaging, traceability, refrigeration, and transport equipment is insufficient, it increases production costs. A lack of strict legislation in Brazil makes it difficult for supermarkets and suppliers to donate food. Cultural issues specific to Brazil, such as consumer overhandling fruit and vegetables before buying these products, generate a great deal of waste. The paper contributes to the literature by identifying the main root causes of food waste and providing a list of prevention practices that supermarkets and suppliers can benefit from. Managerially, it can help supermarket managers spot the causes of food waste within their operations, and hence change, improve or implement practices and behavior to prevent food waste.

Studies have shown that strength training (ST) with blood flow restriction (BFR) in which low load is used (20-50% of 1 maximum voluntary contraction - MVC) can produce positive adaptations similar to ST with loads equal to or greater than 70% 1 MVC. Furthermore, recent studies have investigated the effects of STBFR on muscle adaptations, but few studies investigated the effects of STBFR on vascular function. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of the STBFR program on the vascular reactivity of the abdominal aorta of Wistar rats with femoral arteriovenous blood flow restriction. Male rats were divided into four groups: sedentary sham (S/S), sedentary with blood flow restriction (S/BFR), trained sham (T/S), and trained with blood flow restriction (T/BFR). The animals in the S/BFR and T/BFR groups underwent surgery to BFR in the femoral artery and vein. After one week, the trained groups started the ST which consisted of climbing ladder, six sets of 10 repetitions with 50% of 1 MVC assessed by maximum loaded weight (MLW) carried out for four weeks. Concentration-response curves to Acetylcholine (ACh: 10 nM - 100 µM) and Phenylephrine (PHE: 1 nM - 30 µM) were performed in aortic rings with intact endothelium. The production of nitric oxide (NO) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in situ and the vascular remodeling marker (MMP-2) were also measured. The ST increased the strength of the T/S and T/BFR groups in MLW tests. The S/BFR group showed a 22% reduction in relaxation to acetylcholine, but exercise prevented this reduction in the T/BFR group. In animals without BFR, ST did not alter the response to acetylcholine. An increase in NO production was seen in T/S and T/BFR showed a reduction in ROS production (62% and 40%, respectively). In conclusion low load ST with BFR promotes similar vascular function responses to ST without BFR. Low load ST with and without BFR is interventions that can improve performance with similar magnitudes. Both training methods could have some benefits for vascular health due to NO production in the aorta increased in the T/S group and decreased production of reactive oxygen species in the T/BFR group.

ABSTRACT: Objctive: Fructose consumption has increased worldwide. Excessive fructose intake has been a risk factor for the increased metabolic syndrome disorder incidence. This study aimed to investigate the possible influence of two different exercise training methods, continuous and interval, on fructose intake. Methods: Thirty two-months-old female Wistar rats were divided into six groups: sedentary + water ; sedentary + fructose ; continuous training + water ; interval training + water ; continuous training + fructose ; interval training + fructose . Fructose was given in drinking water (10%). Continuous (40 minutes at 40% maximal speed) or interval training (28 minutes, 1 minute at 70%; 3 minutes at 35% maximal speed) sessions were carried out 3 days/week for 8 weeks. Results: Fructose consumption decreased food intake with a concomitant increase in fluid intake. Continuous and interval training did not modify food intake but progressively reduced fructose ingestion. In the 8th week, interval training + fructose and continuous training + fructose groups drank less fructose solution, 35% and 23%, respectively, than sedentary + fructose group. Conclusion: The findings indicate that both continuous and interval aerobic exercise training seem to modulate food behavior, possibly by mitigating the craving for sweetness, with interval training being more effective in reducing fructose intake than continuous exercise.


RESUMO: Objetivo: O consumo de frutose aumentou em todo o mundo. A ingestão excessiva de frutose tem sido implicada como um fator de risco do aumento da incidência de distúrbios da síndrome metabólica. Nesse contexto, este estudo teve como objetivo investigar a possível influência de dois métodos diferentes de treinamento físico, contínuo e intervalado, na ingestão de frutose. Metodos: Trinta ratas Wistar foram divididas em seis grupos: sedentário + água, sedentário + frutose, treinamento contínuo + água, treinamento intervalado + água, treinamento contínuo + frutose, treinamento intervalado + frutose. A frutose foi dada na água potável (10%). Foram realizadas sessões contínuas (40 minutos a 40% da velocidade máxima) ou intervaladas (28 minutos, 1 minuto a 70%; 3 minutos a 35%) três dias por semana durante oito semanas. Resultados: A ingestão de frutose diminuiu a ingestão alimentar, com um aumento concomitante da ingestão hídrica. O treinamento contínuo e intervalado não modificou a ingestão alimentar, mas reduziu progressivamente a ingestão de frutose. Na oitava semana, treinamento intervalado + frutose e treinamento contínuo + frutose beberam menos solução de frutose, 35% e 23%, respectivamente, do que sedentário + frutose. Conclusão: Os achados indicam que tanto o treinamento aeróbico contínuo quanto o intervalado parecem modular o comportamento alimentar, possivelmente por meio da mitigação do desejo por sabor doce, sendo o treinamento intervalado mais eficaz para reduzir a ingestão de frutose do que o exercício contínuo.

Resumo Objetivo: conhecer a configuração epidemiológica dos atendimentos oncológicos em uma macrorregião de saúde brasileira, localizada no estado de Minas Gerais, entre 2008 e 2017. Materiais e métodos: estudo quantitativo, exploratório, transversal e descritivo, realizado com dados secundários de cinco municípios localizados no estado de Minas Gerais. Resultados: houve 54.206 atendimentos a indivíduos com câncer, com predominância do sexo masculino (53,38 %), faixa etária de 60 a 79 anos (49,95 %), cor branca (79,08 %), ensino fundamental incompleto (48,36 %) e estado conjugal casado (57,34 %). As neoplasias de pele representam a mais frequente localização primária (22,35 %). O estadiamento I do tumor foi o mais observado (20,98 %). As razões mais predominantes para não tratar, depois da opção "não se aplica", foram doença avançada, falta de condições clínicas ou outras (6,97 %), ao passo que se verificou predomínio de doença estável (31,59 %) no final do primeiro tratamento recebido. Conclusão: os resultados apresentados oferecem subsídios para identificar as prioridades da atenção oncológica e traçam a configuração dos atendimentos a pacientes com câncer, o que direciona o planejamento de intervenções para proporcionar um atendimento de qualidade.

Las neoplasias de piel representan la localización primaria más frecuente (22,35 %). La etapa I del tumor fue la más observada (20,98 %). Las razones más frecuentes para no tratar, después de la opción "no se aplica", fueron enfermedad avanzada, falta de condiciones clínicas u otras (6,97 %), mientras que se verificó el predominio de la enfermedad estable (31,59 %) al final del primer tratamiento recibido. Conclusión: los resultados presentados brindan apoyo para identificar las prioridades de la atención oncológica y establecen la configuración de la atención para pacientes con cáncer, lo que dirige la planificación de las intervenciones para proporcionar atención de calidad.


Abstract Objective: to know the epidemiological configuration of cancer care in a health macro-region in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais between 2008 and 2017. Materials and methods: quantitative, exploratory, cross-sectional and descriptive study, conducted with secondary data from five municipalities of the state of Minas Gerais. Results: there were 54,206 visits to cancer patients, predominantly male (53.38%), aged 60 to 79 years (49.95%), white (79.08%), with incomplete elementary school education (48.36 %), and married (57.34 %). Skin neoplasms represent the most frequent primary location (22.35%). Stage I of the tumor was the most observed (20.98 %). The most prevalent reasons for not treating after the "not applicable" option were advanced disease and lack of clinical conditions or other conditions (6.97 %), whereas stable disease (31.59%) prevailed at the end of the first treatment received. Conclusion: the results provide support to identify the priorities of cancer care and outline the configuration for cancer treatment in patients, which directs the planning of interventions to provide high quality care.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of aerobic exercise training on perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) function in thoracic aorta from rats fed a high-fat diet. Aortic vascular reactivity was performed in sedentary (SD), trained (TR), sedentary high-fat diet (SD-HF), and trained high-fat diet (TR-HF) male Wistar rats in the absence (PVAT-) or in the presence (PVAT+) of thoracic PVAT. We also measured circulatory concentrations of leptin and tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), as well as the protein expressions of TNF-α receptor 1 (TNFR1) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) on PVAT. In the SD-HF group, the body weight, epididymal fat pad, thoracic PVAT, circulatory triglycerides, insulin, leptin and TNF-α were increased when compared with the SD group, whereas exercise training reduced these values in TR-HF group. The relaxing response curves to acetylcholine and sodium nitroprusside were not modified by either intervention (high-fat diet or exercise training) or the presence of PVAT. The presence of PVAT had an anti-contractile effect in response to serotonin in all groups. In SD-HF group, the increased magnitude of anti-contractile effects was in parallel with an up-regulation of iNOS protein expression in PVAT without alteration in TNFR1. Exercise training was effective in normalizing the vascular reactivity in rings PVAT+ and in reducing the iNOS protein expression. Exercise training prevented the PVAT-induced alteration in thoracic aorta from rats fed a high-fat diet.

Physical inactivity and dyslipidemia are considered risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. There are few studies evaluating the effects of physical exercise in small-caliber artery in a model that mimics familial hypercholesterolemia. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of exercise training, at moderate intensity, on metabolic parameters and iliac artery responsiveness in LDL-/- mice. Sedentary (SD) and trained (TR) mice performed AET (5 days/week, 60 minutes/day at 60-70% of maximum speed) during 8 weeks. Body weight gain (BWG), epididymal fat, blood glucose, total cholesterol and triglycerides were evaluated. Concentration-response curves to acetylcholine (ACh), sodium nitroprusside, phenylephrine and U46619 were obtained in isolated iliac artery. The production of nitric oxide (NO) and reactive oxygen species as well as the expression and activity of MMP-2 were assessed. AET was effective in preventing BWG and epididymal fat gain, whereas no changes were observed in glucose, total cholesterol and triglycerides levels. Improvement in responsiveness to ACh was found in TR (Emax = 85±3%) compared with SD group (Emax = 62±5%) without changes in the maximal vascular response or potency to SNP, PHE and U46619. The NO level was increased (10.8-fold) while ROS formation was decreased (3.7-fold) in iliac artery from TR, without changes in MMP-2 activity or its expression. AET was effective to improve endothelium-dependent relaxation that was accompanied by increased NO production and decreased ROS formation in iliac artery. The intensity of AET should be greater to modify metabolic disorders in this experimental model of dyslipidemia.

BACKGROUND: The main mechanism involved in the pathogenesis of autoimmunity is an uncontrolled inflammatory response against self-antigens. Therefore, anti-inflammatory factors, such as the intake of bioactive compounds and a physically active lifestyle, may decrease or cease the development of autoimmune diseases. Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease characterized by pancreatic ß cell destruction. The non-obese diabetic (NOD) mouse is a model of spontaneous T1D and is the model most similar to human disease. METHODS: To determine the effects of exercise training and curcumin supplementation on T1D progression, 48 NOD mice, 5 weeks old, were randomly divided into four groups: control, curcumin supplementation, trained, and trained plus curcumin. Every 2 weeks, blood glucose was measured using a glucometer. At the end of 20 weeks, a histopathological procedure was used to assess immune cells infiltration into pancreatic ß cells (insulitis). RESULTS: Moderate intensity exercise training has the potential to protect pancreatic ß cells against an immune response in vivo. However, curcumin supplementation failed to attenuate insulitis in NOD mice. CONCLUSIONS: These data provide evidence that exercise training can mitigate T1D development in genetically susceptible mice.

BACKGROUND: The aim of the present study was to evaluate different signaling pathways by which exercise training would interfere in endothelial function in obesity. Therefore, we examined adipocytokine levels and their receptors in the corpus cavernosum and femoral artery from trained rats on a high-fat diet. METHODS: Functional experiments were performed in control sedentary and trained rats, and sedentary (h-SD) and trained male Wistar rats on a high-fat diet (h-TR). Nitric oxide (NO) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) were evaluated in vascular tissue. Circulating adipocytokines and their receptors were analyzed. RESULTS: In the h-SD group, the maximal responses to acetylcholine (ACh) were reduced in the femoral artery and corpus cavernosum as well as the electrical field stimulation, accompanied by an increase in circulating insulin, leptin, TNF-α, MCP-1, and PAI-1. Downregulation of ObR protein expression in the femoral artery was observed without alterations in AdipoR1 and TNFR1 in both preparations. A positive effect was observed in the h-TR group regarding the relaxation response to ACh and circulating adipocytokines, resulting in increased NO production and reduced ROS generation. Exercise restored the ObR protein expression only in the femoral artery. CONCLUSION: Aerobic exercise training ameliorated the inflammatory adipocytokines and restored the relaxation responses in the corpus cavernosum and femoral artery in rats on a high-fat diet.

Hepatic fibrosis may be the result of repetitive injury to hepatocytes caused by HCV infection and the immune response to it. Cytokines regulate the inflammatory response to injury and modulate hepatic fibrogenesis. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) located in cytokine genes may influence the cytokine expression and secretion that may contribute to hepatic fibrogenesis in HCV infection. The aim of this study was to determine the genotype of 22 SNPs found in the genes of 13 cytokines/cytokine receptors to assess the influence of polymorphic variants on the stage of liver damage in Brazilian patients chronically infected with HCV genotype 1 only. 141 unrelated patients were grouped according to their stage of fibrosis: absence of fibrosis or patients in the initial stages of fibrosis (F0-F2, n = 84), patients with advanced stages of fibrosis or cirrhosis (F3-F4, n = 57), without cirrhosis (F0-F3, n = 103), and with cirrhosis (F4, n = 38). The comparison of frequencies in each sub-sample was performed by 2 × 2 contingency tables using the chi-square or Fisher's exact test. Stepwise logistic regression was also used to assess independent associations between cirrhosis or fibrosis with polymorphic variants. The TNFA-308G:A genotype conferred increased risk of fibrosis and cirrhosis. The TNFA-238G:G genotype was associated with protection from cirrhosis. The IL10-819C:T genotype conferred protection from fibrosis and the IL1B-511C:T genotype conferred increased risk of cirrhosis. Some of these genotypes showed results on the borderline of statistical significance in the bivariate analysis. We conclude that gene variants of cytokines/receptors may influence liver damage in patients chronically infected by HCV genotype 1.

Natural killer (NK) cells play pivotal roles in immune responses against infection with viruses, such as hepatitis C virus (HCV), and killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs) are related to the activation and inhibition of NK cells. The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility that KIR genes and their human leukocyte antigen (HLA) ligands influence progression to cirrhosis in patients infected with genotype 1 of HCV. A total of 145 Brazilian patients with confirmed chronic hepatitis C grouped from F0 to F4 according to fibrosis progression to cirrhosis were evaluated. Genotyping of KIR and HLA genes was performed by polymerase chain reaction with sequence-specific oligonucleotide probes. The HLA-C2 KIR ligand was more frequent in patients than in healthy controls (74.5% vs 64.3%, p = 0.04, odds ratio (OR) = 1.6, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.03-2.52). Moreover, the HLA-C1C2 genotype was more frequent in patients with advanced fibrosis or cirrhosis (F3-F4 group) than in patients in the F0-F2 group (61.6% vs 44.7%, p = 0.06) and in the F4 group compared with the F0-F3 group (65.7% vs 46.7%, p = 0.05, OR = 2.19, 95% CI = 1.01-4.73). NK and KIR ligands may contribute to the development of liver damage in patients chronically infected by HCV.

BACKGROUND: Telomeres are specialized structures at the end of chromosomes essential for maintaining genome stability and cell viability. The importance of telomeric proteins for telomere maintenance has increased our interest in the identification of homologues within the genus Leishmania. The mammalian TRF1 and TRF2 proteins, for example, bind double-stranded telomeres via a Myb-like DNA-binding domain and are involved with telomere length regulation and chromosome end protection. In addition, TRF2 can modulate the activity of several enzymes and influence the conformation of telomeric DNA. In this work, we identified and characterized a Leishmania protein (LaTRF) homologous to both mammalian TRF1 and TRF2. RESULTS: LaTRF was cloned using a PCR-based strategy. ClustalW and bl2seq sequence analysis showed that LaTRF shared sequence identity with the Trypanosoma brucei TRF (TbTRF) protein and had the same degree of sequence similarities with the dimerization (TRFH) and the canonical DNA-binding Myb-like domains of both mammalian TRFs. LaTRF was predicted to be an 82.5 kDa protein, indicating that it is double the size of the trypanosome TRF homologues. Western blot and indirect immunofluorescence combined with fluorescence in situ hybridization showed that LaTRF, similarly to hTRF2, is a nuclear protein that also associates with parasite telomeres. Native and full length LaTRF and a mutant bearing the putative Myb-like domain expressed in bacteria bound double-stranded telomeric DNA in vitro. Chromatin immunoprecipitation showed that LaTRF interacted specifically with telomeres in vivo. CONCLUSION: The nuclear localization of LaTRF, its association and co-localization with parasite telomeres and its high identity with TbTRF protein, support the hypothesis that LaTRF is a Leishmania telomeric protein.

BACKGROUND: Obesity has been associated with a variety of disease such as type II diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension and atherosclerosis. Evidences have shown that exercise training promotes beneficial effects on these disorders, but the underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. The aim of this study was to investigate whether physical preconditioning prevents the deleterious effect of high caloric diet in vascular reactivity of rat aortic and mesenteric rings. METHODS: Male Wistar rats were divided into sedentary (SD); trained (TR); sedentary diet (SDD) and trained diet (TRD) groups. Run training (RT) was performed in sessions of 60 min, 5 days/week for 12 weeks (70-80% VO2max). Triglycerides, glucose, insulin and nitrite/nitrate concentrations (NOx-) were measured. Concentration-response curves to acetylcholine (ACh) and sodium nitroprusside (SNP) were obtained. Expression of Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase (SOD-1) was assessed by Western blotting. RESULTS: High caloric diet increased triglycerides concentration (SDD: 216 +/- 25 mg/dl) and exercise training restored to the baseline value (TRD: 89 +/- 9 mg/dl). Physical preconditioning significantly reduced insulin levels in both groups (TR: 0.54 +/- 0.1 and TRD: 1.24 +/- 0.3 ng/ml) as compared to sedentary animals (SD: 0.87 +/- 0.1 and SDD: 2.57 +/- 0.3 ng/ml). On the other hand, glucose concentration was slightly increased by high caloric diet, and RT did not modify this parameter (SD: 126 +/- 6; TR: 140 +/- 8; SDD: 156 +/- 8 and TRD 153 +/- 9 mg/dl). Neither high caloric diet nor RT modified NOx- levels (SD: 27 +/- 4; TR: 28 +/- 6; SDD: 27 +/- 3 and TRD: 30 +/- 2 microM). Functional assays showed that high caloric diet impaired the relaxing response to ACh in mesenteric (about 13%), but not in aortic rings. RT improved the relaxing responses to ACh either in aortic (28%, for TR and 16%, to TRD groups) or mesenteric rings (10%, for TR and 17%, to TRD groups) that was accompanied by up-regulation of SOD-1 expression and reduction in triglycerides levels. CONCLUSION: The improvement in endothelial function by physical preconditioning in mesenteric and aortic arteries from high caloric fed-rats was directly related to an increase in NO bioavailability to the smooth muscle mostly due to SOD-1 up regulation.

A strong association between the benefits of physical exercise on the cardiovascular disease with an improvement of the endothelium-derived relaxing factor production has been consistently shown. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of exercise training associated with high caloric diet in the reactivity of rat mesenteric and aortic rings. Experimental protocol consisted of 4 weeks of high caloric diet consumption previous to 4 weeks of run training (1.2 km/h, 0% grade, in sessions of 60 min, 5 days/week). Concentrations of triglycerides, glucose, insulin and nitrite/nitrate levels were measured and atherogenic index was calculated. Concentration-response curves to acetylcholine (10 nM-100 microM), sodium nitroprusside (100 pM-100 nM) and phenylephrine (1 nM-3 microM) were obtained. Exercise training reduced body mass (6%) and triglyceride levels (about 54%), without changes in glucose and insulin concentrations. An improvement of endothelium-dependent relaxation responses to acetylcholine in mesenteric and aortic rings was observed in trained group. No changes were seen for sodium nitroprusside and phenylephrine. In conclusion, our study is the first to show clearly that run training promotes an improvement of the endothelium-dependent relaxing response in aorta and mesenteric rings from rats fed with high caloric diet and that is associated with increase of NO production.
